This knife block is made of solid wood, stands up well as designed and knives remain in place thanks to a strong magnet. It also looks very good. I find it most useful when I'm cooking on the kitchen island. I put the knives I'm going to use on this block so they are right in front of me, ready to use, get out of the way and safe.
