The knife is sharpe and works great! My husband and I are love it!
I am, by no means, a professional chef. However, I do fancy myself to be a decent home cook. I have purchased a couple of different sets of knives in this same general style in the past, but have never been very impressed with them. Typically I have found them to struggle with maintaining their edge, and just generally aren't of very good quality.That is definitely not the case with this set of knives! I have only had these a few days, but I absolutely love them. Aside from being very attractive, they are built like a tank. Out of the box they are sharp, but I fine tuned the edge on them with the provided honing steel. After washing and drying them, I went to work with some meal prep for the week.The chef's knife makes short work of whole, thick boneless skinless chicken breast. I was able to quickly and easily cube it up in no time. Slicing steaks off of a whole boneless ribeye was just as easy a chore.The utility knife expertly chopped and diced carrots, celery, and tomatoes for a stew. The same can be said when cutting onions, peppers, and mushrooms that are used for some nice kabobs. The paring knife allows you to easily peel potatoes without a peeler. I'm sure it will handle other produce just as well. While I have not used the steak knives yet, I look forward to using them soon.Keeping them clean while in use requires just a quick rinse under the faucet and you're back to work. The block is sturdy and enhances the overall attractiveness of the set. For my taste, I wish the block was finished to match the knife handles, but the contrast between the dark and light wood works too.In closing, this is a beautiful, well built set of knives at a very fair price. The steel is of great quality, the wood in the handles is not only beautiful, but heavy and feels expensive. I thoroughly appreciate the value and look forward to years of use out of my new knives.
So far so good! Just got this set, and they are very sharp. Only time will tell from here on out.
